Peter Finch: The Machineries of Joy

Temple of Peace
Renowned Cardiff psychogeographer and performance poet Peter Finch presents poems from his new collection, The Machineries of Joy (Seren).
Like a cool breeze during a heatwave, a new collection from Peter Finch is most welcome. As these new poems show, he has lost none of the wit, keen observatory eye for detail and inventiveness that has become his trademark. As William Carlos Williams noted ‘a poem is a small (or large) machine made of words.’ Finch has excelled himself with these machines and he takes us on the road through the American heartlands, the Cardiff of his childhood and the regenerated Welsh capital. Stunning work from one of the foremost poets in Britain. We are lucky to have him. – Andrew Taylor
